The United States Embassy in Jerusalem will remain closed from Wednesday to Friday, due to the deteriorating security situation in the region and in accordance with instructions from Israeli authorities, Reuters reports.

In a statement published on the X platform, the US State Department confirmed the temporary closure, including the Consular Sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

“ Given the security situation and in accordance with the instructions of the Israeli Interior Command, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 18) until Friday (June 20). This includes the Consular Sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv,” the statement said.

The closure comes at a time of severe military tensions between Israel and Iran, with ongoing exchanges of attacks and a fragile security situation throughout Israeli territory.
