Lawyer Redi Ramaj has provided details regarding the postponement of the hearing for the conditional release of former DP MP Ervin Salianji and the procedures that will follow further.

In an interview with Euronews Albania, Ramaj stated that the request for Salianj's release was initiated by the defense and is being carried out as a routine procedure within the legal parameters and rights guaranteed by law.

He emphasized that the conditions for conditional release have been met, but the hearing was postponed due to the lack of documentation from the relevant institutions.

"I think it is a procedural issue where the institutions, which should have the documentation ready in these cases, have been absent. Early release on parole is a right defined by the Criminal Procedure Code and the Criminal Code, and all requests for this were made by Ervin Salianji. From our point of view, the Fier court should apply the law and focus on the fact whether all the documentation has been completed and whether the conditions, as determined by law, for his early release on parole have been met. He has less than three months and a half left of his sentence to serve, and normally his release from the cell is requested only for this period that is due to him according to the law," he said.

The lawyer emphasized that the process could last two to three sessions and expressed hope that the court will issue a positive decision as soon as possible, as there is no reason for further delay. He described their request as completely legal and in accordance with the rules.
