Democratic Party MP and chairwoman of the European Affairs Committee, Jorida Tabaku, reacted after the meeting of the Stabilization and Association Committee between the European Parliament and the Assembly of Albania.

Tabaku stated that the opposition raised serious concerns related to the electoral process, the lack of rule of law, widespread corruption and abuses with public tenders at this meeting.

"We are not in Strasbourg to sign declarations for show, but to seek real changes that affect the lives of citizens," said Tabaku.

She emphasized that Albanians need the integration process to be felt in everyday life and not remain a political slogan at government tables.

"There is no true integration without free elections, without functional democracy, and without deep reforms that fight corruption," Tabaku underlined.

Tabaku adds that cooperation with the EU must be based on sincere commitments and real reforms, not on facades and empty rhetoric.
