AMF denounces a suspicious cryptocurrency investment platform

The Financial Supervisory Authority, AFSA, warned Albanian citizens that a dubious investment platform, called “NetherexPro”, is being promoted on social networks and could put their income at risk. According to AFSA, this platform is not licensed by them.

"Any investment in this platform may result in the irretrievable loss of all invested money," the AMF stated in the announcement, adding that their institution cannot protect the interests of investors when they invest in platforms not licensed by the AMF itself.

The investment platform "NetherexPro", which promises profits from cryptocurrency investments, has previously been reported by institutions in other countries such as Montenegro and Uganda. According to them, false reports have been circulating on social networks regarding sources of profits promoted by state officials in connection with this platform.

Both of these countries have denied these statements, as well as links to the NetherexPro platform.

"The perpetrators have used data obtained from social networks to target vulnerable individuals, especially those who are more interested in crypto or online business opportunities," reported the Ugandan media outlet The Explorer.

In Albania, the Financial Supervisory Authority reminds citizens that no company can offer or promote services without having the proper license.

“…no company may offer or promote services related to investments in securities or trading in digital tokens and/or virtual currencies, within the territory of the Republic of Albania, without being previously licensed, registered, or recognized by the Financial Supervisory Authority,” the announcement concludes.
