GJKKO sentences Dritan Lleshi to 8 months in prison for unlawful influence

The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) has found Dritan Lleshi guilty of exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions.

He had promised a woman the employment of her son as an environmental inspector, in exchange for a sum of money.

SPAK requested that Lleshi be sentenced to 1 year in prison, but due to the summary trial, he received a 1/3 reduction in sentence, ultimately being sentenced to 8 months in prison.

"The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has submitted to the Court the request with the subject matter: "Trial of the criminal case against the defendant Dritan Lleshi, accused of committing the criminal offense 'Exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions', provided for by Article 245/1, second paragraph of the Criminal Code (before the amendments made by Law No. 43/2021, dated 14.05.2021)".

The trial of this case was conducted under the rules of summary trial. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Etleva Deda, Flora Hajredinaj and Erjon Çela, with decision no. 46, dated 24.06.2025, decided:

The guilty plea of ​​the defendant Dritan Lleshi for committing the criminal offense of "Exercising unlawful influence over persons exercising public functions", and his sentence to 1 (one) year of imprisonment.

In application of Article 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the sentence was reduced by 1/3, ultimately sentencing him to 8 (eight) months in prison.

Based on Article 33 of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 15 of Law No. 81/2020 "On the rights and treatment of prisoners and detainees", the serving of the sentence will begin from the day the decision becomes final and will be carried out in one of the institutions for adult and ordinary security prisoners.

Regarding the material evidence: the mobile phone of the brand "Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse", black in color, with IMEI ****, to be returned to citizen AN, in accordance with article 190/1, letter "ç" of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The procedural expenses incurred during the preliminary investigation phase, in the amount of 40,060 (forty thousand sixty) lekë, of the preliminary hearing and during the trial, are charged to the defendant, based on articles 393/1 and 406/4 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

An appeal against the decision is allowed within the legal deadline to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime.
