The Court of Appeal has overturned the decision given by the Court of First Instance in Korça in the case of the murder of 26-year-old Martin Çeço, returning it for retrial.

The Appeal Decision was made on June 24, 2025 by a panel of judges composed of rapporteur Marsela Pepi and members Genti Dokollari and Irena Brahimi. According to the decision, the case will be retried by another panel of judges at the Korça Court.

On February 10, 2025, the Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça issued a verdict of a total of 83 years in prison for the four defendants in this case, adhering to the request of the Prosecution. Found guilty of the crime were cousins ​​Valter and Edlir Mollaj, shepherd Bledi Angjo, and Martina Pajollari, who, according to the indictment, had ambushed the victim.

The appeal has decided that recourse against this decision is allowed within 45 days from the date of communication of the reasoned decision.
