At the age of 74, Skënder Cena from Kukës, but who has been living in Kamëz for years, is the oldest high school graduate in Albania. A story that proves that it is never too late to follow your dreams.

In 1973, an explosion at the Fierza Hydroelectric Power Plant where he worked partially blinded him and prevented him from continuing his secondary education. However, after more than 40 years, at the age of 64, he decided to return to the school benches in Kamëz and complete his secondary education.

After many difficulties, but with extraordinary enthusiasm and determination, Skënder Cena managed to fulfill this long-standing life goal, successfully passing his final exam, the English exam, this year.

In a story for the show "Tak Fak", he shared with the audience the moments of school, the challenges he went through and the strength of faith that kept him alive throughout the journey. After graduation, Skënder plans to continue his higher studies.

"I am happy, I was 56 years old when I started high school. The first day I sat in class I was very happy, the other students remembered me as a professor and asked me what subject I would teach them. Then when I joined them as a student, they developed a respect for me. All the teachers have helped me equally, without exception. The teacher is the most sacred in this world after God and the parent.

I attended 7-year school at that time in Kalis, Kukës. I was very good at my studies. After finishing 7-year school, I was unable to enter high school because I had a bad resume. Then I started again many years later, it was not easy. My daughter accompanied me, sometimes my son or my brother's daughter. I thank my teachers.

"Now I want to start university, but I have a problem, because I need someone behind me, a car to take me home. My desire is very great to have finished university, regardless of my age. I would be very grateful if someone would help me on this next journey of my life," said Skënder Cena in the interview given to "Tak-Fak".
