Bylykbashi: Internationals have realized that behind the towers is a government

The elected DP MP for the Durrës Region, Oerd Bylykbashi, commented this Wednesday on foreign media articles which write, among other things, that the towers built in the capital are a facade for money laundering.

Invited to Syri TV, Bylykbashi stated that internationals have become aware of the reality in Albania, that behind the glittering towers hides a predatory, corrupt and crime-related government.

He added that even in its final report, the OSCE/ODIHR will unmask the electoral farce of May 11.

Bylykbashi:  What is happening now is an awareness of the international factor. Various organizations but also of states that have an interest in Albania not only as a democracy but also in the consolidation of democracy and progress in the EU.

Not only are they attentive, but they are increasingly understanding that Albania is something different from what Edi Rama is trying to present.

Behind the glitter of the towers, that is, what people see, lies a way of governance that is absolutely not only predatory, not only corrupt or linked to crime. It is a kind of autocracy that in a way is a hybrid power, that is apparently democratic but that means that elections are held, there are institutions, there are 35 years after communism fell.

It is a member state seeking to join the EU, it has opened negotiations, but beyond all these facades, a regime is increasingly developing that suppresses human rights, destroys the electoral process, and has eradicated the concept of the rule of law from the very basic notion that Europe has.

It has concentrated powers in the hands of the prime minister, and all this in the function of a prime minister, headed by Edi Rama.

Now the elections are the constant victim of this entire governing model, which has a very clear objective of maintaining power and complete control, leaving no room for any kind of force that could challenge Rama's governance.

So the international community is becoming aware. The official statement of the OSCE/ODIHR, but also of the international observation mission that includes the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, also pointed out in very critical tones the serious violations that occurred on May 11 and in the process before May 11.

We will see the part after the OSCE/ODIHR report. It is likely that that report will be even more detailed, but what we have brought throughout this month to the OSCE/ODIHR and I am sure that it will have an impact on this dark situation of the May 11 elections.

But the report of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has also been released, which is part of the monitoring process and also with the same critical tones.

A few weeks ago, the European Parliament also approved the report on Albania, where the paragraph on the elections also repeated the same concerns. That the contestants did not have a level playing field. In one sentence, it summarizes all the violations that occurred before May 11 and have destroyed the possibility of having free and fair elections .
