Today's hearing at the Criminal Court of Justice, Meta requests replacement

A hearing is expected to begin at the premises of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) to review Ilir Meta's request to replace the security measure from "prison arrest" to a lighter measure.

According to the lawyer, Meta's request is based on the lack of sufficient evidence by the prosecution to keep him in the highest security measure. The lawyer emphasized that the prosecution has violated legal procedures, as it has not held at least four briefing sessions on the progress of the investigation every two months.

Meanwhile, in the previous session, the prosecution presented a 31-page document, arguing that it has facts and evidence that support its position on the continuation of the "prison arrest" measure. But this was opposed by the defense, which considers this document inadequate to justify Meta's stay in prison.

The court is expected to decide next whether to accept Meta's request to change the security measure.
