Thousands of cannabis roots found and destroyed in Shkodra, 4 prosecuted

2936 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants were found and destroyed in Shkodra.

The narcotic substance was cultivated in the territory of the administrative units of Shala and Shosh. The police have initiated proceedings against 4 people.

"As a result of intensive controls throughout the territory of the Shkodra district, following the police operation codenamed "Coordinates", the services of the Shkodra Local Police Directorate and the police stations under its jurisdiction have found and destroyed 2936 suspected narcotic plants of Cannabis Sativa, specifically:

-The services of the Shkodra Police Commissariat found in the territory of the administrative units of Shala and Shosh, and destroyed 1792 suspected narcotic plants. Following the actions in these cases, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated in a free state for:

-forestry engineer, citizen AM, for abuse of office and failure to report a crime;

-the guard of the protected areas, citizen LA, for abuse of office;

-the headman of the village of Lotaj, citizen LM, for abuse of office;

-the headman of the village of Abat, citizen MM, for abuse of office.

-The services of the Malësi e Madhe Police Commissariat found and destroyed 824 suspected narcotic plants in the territory of the Shkrel and Kastrat administrative units.

-The services of the Fushë Arrëz Police Station found and destroyed 320 suspected narcotic plants in the territory of the Qafë Mal administrative unit.

"Work continues to identify, capture and bring to justice the perpetrators of these cultivation cases ," the announcement states.
