Rama returns to Parliament after 6 months of absence

Prime Minister Edi Rama has returned to Parliament after a long absence.

During today's plenary session, the head of government was seen sitting in his seat, where he only stayed for a few minutes and then left again.

Rama's presence comes directly after returning from The Hague, where the head of government was part of the NATO summit, to represent Albania at the table where transparency and international security were discussed.

The contrast is that while our country sits at tables where security and transparency are discussed, the head of state himself does not appear in Parliament, where a number of concerns have been raised by the opposition.

It seems that this is now a new "strategy" for leadership, to be abroad more than in your own country, and to call this commitment dedicated to Albania.

The last time Rama was present in the Assembly was on November 18 of last year, a relatively long absence for a head of state. Despite being paid with Albanian taxpayers' money, Rama has decided to be present only when he wants, without giving any account.

This irresponsible absence of Rama from the Assembly is an indication that the facade he shows to internationals is far removed from the reality in the country.

However, let's hope that the Prime Minister understands that to lead a country, it is not enough to be present at foreign summits, but to also be present where decisions are made for the future of the country (the Assembly).
