"The trial against him will be dropped in Strasbourg", Tela: Absurd how Meta is being held in prison indefinitely

"The trial against him will be dropped in Strasbourg", Tela: Absurd
Journalist Andi Tela spoke about the decision of the Special Court that left Ilir Meta, the president of the Freedom Party, in indefinite detention.

Invited to the MCN, Tela expressed his concern about the three reasons that, according to the Court, justify Meta's detention, which, according to him, are unfounded and without facts.

"What we will evaluate today is the decision to keep Ilir Meta in prison indefinitely.

What are the reasons for the court's decision? The charges against him may be serious, they may be reviewed in court and Meta may be convicted, but this is a process that could take up to three years.

It is absurd that Meta remains in prison without any solid evidence justifying such a drastic measure.

The reasons the court has presented for keeping Meta in prison are disingenuous. There is a fear that he might escape, but this is just an assumption. They also say that he might destroy evidence, but they have no sufficient evidence to support this and are still discussing whether there is a card or not.

It is unbelievable that, even after all these baseless arguments, the court decides to keep Meta in prison. These three reasons are endless and baseless.

"There is no chance that Meta will repeat this criminal offense. These processes like those of Meta, Berisha and Veliaj, like that of Thoma Gëllçi will all be overturned in Strasbourg because there is no reason to keep them in prison ," said Tela.
