Temperatures over 40°C! 21 Italian cities on red alert, authorities appeal

21 cities in Italy  have been put on alert for the heat wave expected to hit the country tomorrow.

Foreign media write that in Rome and Florence, the thermometer is expected to reach 38 degrees, while in Naples and Milan it will be 37. On the island of Sardinia and in the wider area of Bari, the temperature, according to forecasts, will exceed 40 degrees.

As Italian authorities point out, heat and humidity can cause serious problems, not only for the elderly and citizens belonging to vulnerable categories, but also for people who do not face chronic health problems.

The Ministry of Health advises citizens to avoid traveling between 11:00 and 18:00, as well as exercising outdoors. At the same time, in terms of nutrition, the advice is to emphasize fish, pasta, vegetables and fruits.
