WHO publishes final report on Covid-19: We cannot find its origin!

More than three years of research and debate were not enough for the world to have a clear statement today about the origin of the virus that caused the 2019 pandemic.

A panel of experts appointed by the World Health Organization says the question of how COVID-19 began remains unresolved. The final report on the disease cites a lack of access to key data, especially from China, as the main reason for this situation.

Although much scientific evidence seems to support the theory that the virus originated in animals and spread to humans, UN experts say they cannot completely rule out the idea of ​​a laboratory origin. Without access to hundreds of viral genetic sequences and detailed biosafety data from China, the group was unable to reach a consensus.

Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that COVID-19 was intentionally engineered or that the virus circulated outside of China before December 2019. Despite repeated requests to Chinese authorities, the WHO team said it was denied access to key data that could have confirmed or ruled out a laboratory accident.

According to Venter, the theory that the virus came from a lab remains speculative, politicized, and “unsupported by science” – yet it cannot be completely ruled out. The Chinese government has consistently denied the possibility of a lab leak and suggested that the search for its origins should be extended to other countries.
