Vangjeli: Stop political revenge against police officers who enforced the law by investigating the complaint about the 'Bulgarian train' in Pekisht, Peqin

Statement by the Anti-Corruption Spokesperson in the Democratic Party, Genta Vangjeli:

The Democratic Party condemns political revenge against law enforcement officers.

Based on the depositions of the Democratic Party structures regarding the continuation of the criminal proceedings initiated after the publication of a video by the opposition leader, Mr. Sali Berisha, documenting election materials and money in a bar in the village of Pekisht, Peqin, we inform you that:

After the Elbasan Police referred the case to the Prosecutor's Office and the latter continued the procedures for criminal prosecution of the case, the State Police structures were put into operation for a political revenge campaign.

Under the political orders of Edi Rama and under the leadership of Ilir Proda in the State Police, a series of disciplinary and punitive measures have been taken against officers who dared to act in accordance with the law.

Specifically, according to the information provided by the elected MP, Mr. Blendi Himçi:

Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated by the Standards Directorate against the head of economic crime in the Elbasan Directorate, Kliton Zhari;

The Deputy Director of the Elbasan District Police, Sadik Kateshi, has been suspended from duty;

Disciplinary proceedings and transfer for the head of crimes at the Peqin Police Station, Denis Sinani.

These measures constitute a pure act of political revenge against the officers who refused to remain silent in the face of election manipulation and who performed their duties with honesty and professionalism.

On the other hand, names like Krenar Guçe are promoted to positions as a reward for their service in the electoral farce that took place on May 11th.

The Democratic Party strongly condemns this arbitrary behavior and warns that all cases of abuse of power will be documented and punished according to the law.
