"There is no room for panic"/ Moore: Serbia does not dare to attack

Former senior American diplomat, Jonathan Moore, has stated that he sees no real risk of a military attack by Serbia on Kosovo, emphasizing that the presence of NATO and KFOR is a key factor that guarantees security.

In an interview on A2 CNN, Moore stressed that the current situation does not favor military tension:

" I do not foresee any military movements or maneuvers from Serbia. Serbia is very aware of the role of NATO and KFOR in Kosovo ," he said.

According to him, the real problem blocking the dialogue process lies in Pristina:

The only obstacle to progress at this point is in Kosovo. Serbia has met many of the expectations for the dialogue, perhaps not all. The lack of the Association of Serbian Municipalities, which Kosovo agreed to in 2013, remains an open issue ,” Moore said.

He added that the lack of political stability in Pristina hinders progress: “ Kosovo does not have a new parliament, there is no speaker of the assembly, and the opposition is not uniting. There will most likely be elections in October, but until then I do not see a serious project for dialogue .”

Moore stressed that despite the political crisis, there is no room for panic: “ KFOR is there and there will be no war .”
