The political leader of the DP for the Fier Region, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted through a statement to the media, regarding the violent escort of the democratic candidate, Fatjon Semanjaku.

Bardhi warned the leaders of the Fier Police to abandon criminal methods similar to state security in a dictatorship. Bardhi made it clear to them that after May 11, there will be neither Edi Rama nor Belinda Balluku to serve as their god.

"Candidate Semanjaku was initially stopped by bandits in uniform of the corrupt head of the Fier Municipality, Armando Subashi, from exercising his electoral activity through stands, which are the most democratic form of communication with citizens in the entire world.

Then, through an illegal order and an illegal intervention by the State Police, the forcible escort of the candidate for deputy of the largest opposition party to the Fier Police Directorate was ordered, aiming to intimidate him and prevent him from exercising his right to campaign according to the forms chosen by each candidate.

This act constitutes an unprecedented breach between the state and the party. It has only one purpose, to intimidate opposition candidates in the final and decisive week of the May 11 elections.

None of the candidates of the DP and the Alliance for a Greater Albania in the Fier Region are either intimidated or impressed by the brutal violation of the law by employees wearing State Police uniforms.

Their goal is not to intimidate me or the candidates for MPs a week before the elections, but amidst the violence exerted against the candidates for MPs, there is only one goal: to intimidate and scare the citizens of Fier District, so that they can vote freely and make their choice democratically a week later on May 11th.

Today I want to give a stern warning to the leaders of the Police in the Fier Region, you have repeatedly provoked the opposition candidates for deputies in the Fier Region. Repeatedly, we have data that we have filed, that you are involved in the campaign on behalf of a criminal and corrupt and criminal like Belinda Balluku and this is the moment that you must stop any illegal activity against the opposition, citizens and supporters of the DP and strictly implement only your duty and the law. Give up methods and forms similar to state security. Give up political use to intimidate the opposition and opposition citizens, give up criminal actions. After May 11, there will be neither Edi Rama nor Belinda Balluku to be your god" , declared Bardhi.
