Incident with Nallbat, Kaso: SPAK should clarify the incident, we denounce

The political leader of the Democratic Party in Korça, Ivi Kaso, apologized for the incident involving Democratic MP Bledion Nallbati.

Kaso said in a statement to the media that the case was misused by the State Police on the orders of Niko Peleshi, misinforming the public about how the incident occurred.

Kaso asked SPAK to shed light on the incident, while emphasizing that if it is proven that the charges were filed on a political order, then we are dealing with the most flagrant case of abuse of state power for personal political interests and obtaining an electoral result.

"In my capacity as the leader of the Korça region PD, on behalf of the PD, I take this opportunity to once again renew the request for forgiveness towards all citizens who have followed the images of yesterday's incident. Regarding our share of responsibility in this incident, we withdrew without our will. On the other hand, it is our responsibility to immediately denounce the political instrumentalization that is being made of this event for the close personal interests of Niko Peleshi, who is a person involved with direct responsibility in the violation of the law and in any kind of disinformation that is being made to public opinion about the event.

If it is proven by SPAK, AMP, who we invited to investigate the case, if it is proven the illegal phone call and influence that MP Peleshi makes to the police director, not only for holding accountable a person who, based on the criminal code, has no criminal liability in relation to an event that the injured party itself has not filed any complaint. If it is proven the suspension of the leaders of the Devoll police station who have refused to see the event through political lenses and the transfer of this file and the taking of the detention measure against Nallbat's brother, if it is proven that the charges raised are by political order and not by legal complaint, then we are dealing with the most flagrant case of abuse of state power for personal political interests and obtaining an electoral result. In addition to the apology, we call on SPAK to shed light on the event" , said Kaso.
