What has Albania exported the most?

What has Albania exported the most?

The data shows:
- 1.2 million Albanians now live abroad (or 44%)
- 70% of emigrants are under 34 years old
- 47% of emigrants in the last 4 years have university degrees
- 3,500 doctors have left for Germany alone!
- 91.4% of students plan to leave after graduation and never return.
- Albania, along with 9 other African countries, ranks in the top 10 countries in the world with the highest exodus of educated people.
Unlike previous waves of emigration that were driven by poverty, today's exodus includes Albania's most educated and ambitious minds: doctors, engineers, researchers and software developers.
Albania has the highest rate of emigration of people with higher education in the Western Balkans and 47% of today's emigrants have a university degree.
Albania is experiencing not only a historic demographic collapse, but also an intellectual collapse.
In the last 5 years alone, over half a million Albanians have sought asylum, work permits or residence in the EU, emptying the country of both young people and expertise.
Surveys show that this is not just an economic flight but a moral abandonment. Corruption is entrenched, normalized and often glorified. Meritocracy is a myth. Nepotism is the rule.
Well, Albania, more than anything else, exports young and educated people. Each one of them is not just a person - it is possible progress, a better future, a voice that could have changed something.
While cities have become like guest rooms in our homes, where sons and daughters come as visitors and are counted as tourists, where baptisms are rare and funerals frequent, I still wonder who Albanian parents will vote for?
