Fallen in England, 32-year-old woman dies after falling from parachute

Jade Damarell, 32, died after a skydiving accident went wrong. British authorities are investigating the possibility of suicide, despite initially calling it an accident and even expressing confidence.

Damarell, who had more than 400 jumps, was killed instantly a few days ago during a skydive at Shotton Mine, in Co Durham, Britain. Police and paramedics rushed to the farm in Hereford, where the 32-year-old ended up after the crash, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Although initially thought to be a tragic accident, Sky High Skydiving announced last night that all evidence indicates Jade's act was deliberate.

"It is with great sadness that we can confirm that a tragic incident involving a member of our community occurred on April 28th. Investigations by the police and British Skydiving indicate that this was a deliberate act of suicide. We are all shocked and express our sincere condolences to her family and friends," a company spokesperson said.

According to the Daily Mail, police immediately ruled out foul play: A woman in her thirties has died in a skydiving accident near Peterlee. Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene at 10.30am on Sunday, but the woman was found dead. There were no signs of foul play.

A friend of Jade from Shotton said the loss has plunged the small skydiving community into grief: She was passionate about the sport. Two days before she died, she had made 11 jumps. This year she would have been 80. No one can believe what happened.

According to the Daily Mail, a friend of hers also witnessed the incident. The case file has now been sent to the Prosecutor, who will investigate the circumstances of the death.
