Knife attack at Hamburg train station, 12 injured

Twelve people have been reported injured after a knife attack at Hamburg's central train station in Germany.

A "major operation" has been launched and a suspect has been arrested, police said in a post on X.

The suspect's identity has not been revealed, Skynews writes . 

The fire service said six of the injured were in life-threatening condition, three others were seriously injured and three others suffered minor injuries, the dpa news agency reported.

Bild newspaper said the motive for the attack was so far unknown.

Hamburg is Germany's second largest city, with its train station serving as a hub for local, regional and long-distance trains.
