Police have seized materials suspected of being forged in the village of Pekisht in Peqin, including incomplete ballots and a list of voters' names. This development comes after a denunciation by the Democratic Party, which accuses exponents of the Socialist Party of filling ballot boxes in private premises in the Elbasan Region.


After the report, the law enforcement forces and the Prosecutor's Office intervened in a bar owned by the citizen Dervish Beqiri. During the check, in the presence of the investigative authorities, 10 ballot papers similar to those of the ballot papers, incomplete and suspected to be forged, a list of voters and an amount of 280,000 ALL were found and seized.


According to the official announcement of the Peqin Police, during the search in Beqiri's apartment, an old trophy rifle and a noisy (sport) pistol were also found, for which he did not have a permit.

At the end of the investigative actions, the police referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan, initiating criminal proceedings against Dervish Beqiri for the criminal offenses "Falsification of election material and election results" and "Unauthorized production and possession of hunting and sports weapons".


Investigations continue to fully clarify the incident and verify whether this case is related to a broader vote manipulation scheme.
