Operation 'Ura'/ GJKKO upholds prison arrest for 13 arrested, lawyer

The Criminal Court of Kosovo (GJKKO) has announced, after a marathon session, the decision on security measures for 14 of the detainees of Operation "Bridge".

Judge Rudina Palloj left the prison arrest measures in force for the 13 suspects, while the measure for lawyer Armand Tragaj was changed to "compulsory appearance."

The police operation called 'Ura' led to the issuance of arrest warrants for 52 people involved, to varying degrees, in international drug trafficking, money laundering and abuse of office. The warrants were issued by the Bari Preliminary Investigations Judge and the Special Court of First Instance for Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO). The operation was launched by the Bari District Anti-Mafia Directorate and SPAK, with the coordination of Eurojust (The Hague) and the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate of Rome.
