"Notify the DEA", Abilekaj: Internationals do not trust our

The US Embassy has called on Albanian citizens to directly notify the DEA if they have information about drug trafficking, taking SPAK "out of the game".

Meanwhile, journalist Enton Abilekaj has raised the alarm about the weak role of the Albanian state in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking, emphasizing that international institutions such as the DEA and the Italian prosecution no longer require the government's cooperation, but instead turn to citizens.

"We are talking about a criminal event and we are saying what role the Albanian state has here," Abilekaj said on Syri TV.

He emphasized that he was not speaking from personal conclusions or deductions, but according to how international partners see the situation.

Referring to a statement by the Bari prosecutor, Abilekaj said that “tons of cocaine enter Albania and that the Albanian mafia is an international danger.” According to him, the Italian prosecutor did not ask the Albanian government for help, but rather citizens to do everything possible to fight the mafia.

The journalist further emphasized that the DEA, just an hour later, also published a notice asking citizens to report drug trafficking cases directly to the American agency, bypassing the Albanian police and prosecutor's office.

Abilekaj : We are talking about a criminal event and we are saying what role the Albanian state has here.

I do not want to speak with conclusions or deductions, but I want to speak in the language of the Italians and Americans. How do they see Albania in this case?
The Bari prosecutor stated that tons of cocaine enter Albania and that the Albanian mafia is the mafia that crosses Albanian borders as a danger, it is an international danger, and he asked all Albanians, not the government, all Albanians, to do what is possible to fight the mafia.
This is what the Bari prosecutor said.
On the other hand, an hour later, the DEA publishes a post and says: notify us directly on our numbers. He reposts the announcement that says: notify us directly, do not go to either the Albanian police or the Albanian prosecutor's office, notify us directly, these are our numbers, thank you for the data so far on the fight against drugs.
That is, out of 2 institutions that are professional, that deal with this issue, neither of them addressed the Albanian government, nor thanked the Albanian government, no one asked for the help of the Albanian government or the Albanian justice bodies, but they asked for the help of the Albanian people to fight organized crime in Albania and precisely that organized crime that deals with drug trafficking.

We know this, but when they come to us and tell us: the hour has reached its peak, there is nowhere else to go, there is no one to fight this if Albanian citizens fight, then we are in the conditions of Palermo in the 80s.
The DEA and the Italian police are appealing to the citizens, not the police, not the government, because the government does what it does when it receives the arrest warrant in February, finds a place so that they cannot find the person who should be arrested and comes out today with a statement, with an announcement, about a great victory, about a giant operation, a gang was dismantled, that was not dismantled at all, that continues their activity.

Not to mention that Albania is the country, the entire Albanian economy is built specifically for laundering drug money.
