CIA Alert/ Shooting outside Langley headquarters, one injured

A serious security incident has been recorded outside the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) headquarters in Langley, Virginia, where security guards opened fire on a suspect, wounding him.

The incident occurred on Thursday and was confirmed by the CIA itself, which in a statement to foreign media described the situation as a "security incident" that occurred outside the perimeter of the facility. So far, no official details have been given on the identity or condition of the injured person.

US authorities are investigating the full circumstances of the incident, and there is no information whether the person involved posed a direct threat to the institution.

The incident comes just hours after another serious incident that occurred in Washington, DC, where two Israeli embassy employees, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were shot dead outside the Jewish Museum.

However, US authorities emphasize that at this point there is no evidence that the two incidents are linked.

The CIA incident has significantly increased vigilance in American national security structures, while more information is expected from official investigations.
