Security expert: Anti-drug operation postponed to avoid interfering with May 11

Fatjon Softa, security expert, spoke about the mega-operation of the Italian Anti-Mafia in cooperation with SPAK, within which 52 arrest warrants were issued.

In a live broadcast to MCN TV, Softa said that the operation has been postponed by several months to avoid interfering with the May 11 elections, as the arrest warrant was issued in February.

According to Softa, there will be a thorough investigation into the operation.

"This operation, according to some materials dating back to February 2025, should have happened then. And although the diplomatic language used in the joint conference to avoid this was the fact that in February there was a court decision to make these arrests. But so that there would be no interference in the May 11 elections, this date was postponed and this operation took place yesterday.

It indicates criminal activity, the presence of groups where one of the most worrying problems is the fact that criminal money through buses or other forms comes and is dumped into the economy informally and has caused the devaluation of the euro.

"This operation is a continuation of an investigation that began in December 2021. The proceedings began in 2022, where at least Italian prosecutors began to make a chronology of the course of this. There will be a deepening of the investigations ," Softa declared.
