Këlliçi: The elections, a farce organized by the state and organized

The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Tirana region, Belind Këlliçi, reacted after the end of the electoral process and vote counting, expressing his gratitude for the contribution of the DP structures in unit no. 9 of the capital.

In a Facebook post, Këlliçi especially thanks the branch chairwoman, Eda Grimci, as well as the two candidates Dhurata Çupi and Edith Harxhi, for their tireless commitment in a race that he describes as unequal and manipulated.

However, Këlliçi underlines that the existence of a free opposition remains a hope for democracy and for the development of free elections in the future.

Post:

Today I would like to express a special thank you to the Democrats of Ward No. 9.

Starting with the chairwoman, the tireless Eda Grimci and our candidates, the two honorable ladies Dhurata Çupi and Edith Harxhi, continuing with the branch headquarters and the entire electoral corps who made their contribution with extraordinary sacrifice, in an unequal and unfair competition that proved to be simply an electoral farce!

Of course, the result does not reflect our joint efforts. We were faced with an entire state machinery that used every available resource to distort the will of the Albanians. From state and financial resources of organized crime to filling the ballot boxes with different colored ballots, arriving on the 'Bulgarian Train'.

And yet, your very existence as free factors in politics gives hope that Albania will deserve free and fair elections, as the only democratic mechanism for change.
