Greek police carried out a search operation in the cells of Albanian prisoners at the notorious Koridhalos prison on Sunday evening. The focus of the operation was the 5th wing, where some of the most dangerous names in the underworld are held.

During the searches, police forces seized two mobile phones, two improvised knives and a quantity of 0.4 grams of cocaine. Among the searched cells was that of Klod Cara, known by the other identity Klodian Lekocaj – one of the most well-known names in the Greek underworld.

A new arrest warrant has been issued for the two convicts for violating the law on weapons and drugs, while the investigations have been expanded to include two other people. The materials have been submitted to the prosecutor's office.

Lekocaj, 48, was involved in a serious incident just ten days ago where he is accused of holding several prison guards hostage to move to another sector, suspected of carrying out a paid assassination.

Labeled by the Greek media as the "Head of the Prison Mafia", Lekocaj is a controversial figure with a long criminal history inside and outside detention facilities. He has been involved in several investigations for contract killings, including failed assassinations of people linked to rival groups or for disrupting drug deals.

In 2022, Greek police investigations revealed that he had ordered a murder through two Albanians who were caught with weapons in a vehicle and apartment. Meanwhile, he is also implicated in the murder of renowned Greek lawyer Mixalis Zafiropoulos, as well as other attempted murders, extortion, drug trafficking, spectacular escapes and involvement in organized criminal networks.

In addition to a number of names involved in criminal activities in Greece, Klodian Lekocaj is suspected of having been linked to hitmen and other underworld figures such as Arbër Bako, Olti Dulce, Elvis Pepa and others.

In April 2025, his name returned to the scene again, when he was included in a new file for ordering the assassination of Albanians Kristjanis Stefa and Florian Bajraktari, an event that occurred on September 23, 2024 in Greece.
