A joint operation between Italy and Albania led to the crackdown on international drug trafficking, which came from Ecuador, towards Bari.

In a joint conference with SPAK, the State Police, the Chief Prosecutor of Bari and the head of the Italian Anti-Mafia, special prosecutor Vladimir Mara provided details of the seizures carried out as part of Operation "Bridge".

Mara told the media that 3 restaurants in Durrës, 6 commercial companies, and a television station in Vlora have been seized, respectively.

"3 restaurants in Durrës, a coffee bar, 6 commercial companies and 1 television in the city of Vlora have been seized," Mara said. "During this investigation, 3 million euros in cash were previously seized as income of this criminal group, which have been subject to investigation in this criminal proceeding," Mara declared.

Part of the criminal scheme were also the blue uniforms, where an arrest warrant was issued against 2 State Police employees, one with an important position.

"We have had two state police officers, one in an important position. In one case we had collaboration and corruption in the Durrës Port police. As for the people who were issued security measures, the organizers of this group were also arrested ," said Mara.
