KPA dismisses Tirana judge Ardiana Bera from office

The Special Appeals Chamber dismissed Tirana judge Ardiana Bera from office today.

"The adjudicatory panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Rezarta Schuetz as presiding judge, Mimoza Tasi as rapporteur, Albana Shtylla, Natasha Mulaj, Sokol Çomo as members, announced the decision on case no. 25/2024, dated 03.07.2024, which concerns the appeal of the Public Commissioner against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission no. 760, dated 26.04.2024, relating to the re-evaluation subject Ardiana Bera.

At the end of the trial, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter “b” of Law No. 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:

"Amending decision no. 760, dated 26.04.2024 of the Independent Qualification Commission and dismissing the re-evaluation subject Ardiana Bera from duty. This decision is final and has immediate effect ," the KPA announces. 

Bera is known to the public for judging the case against Guard officers, Ndrea Prendi and Agim Llupi, accused of killing protesters during the January 21, 2011 rally.
