Alimehmeti did not secure a seat in the Assembly: I do not consider myself

The Democratic candidate of the open list in Tirana, Ilir Alimehmeti, has spoken again after failing to secure a seat in the Assembly in the May 11 parliamentary elections.

Invited to Top Story, Alimehmeti said that he does not consider himself a victim, even though he secured 18,055 votes, but failed to obtain the mandate of the deputy. According to him, the competition was unequal.

Alimehmeti : I do not consider myself sacrificed. From this aspect, we will see this point as a work that sets an example that things can be done, they can be done quickly and quietly, the big area is the report that the OSCE ODIHR gave us, the DP had more mandates for fair elections, the mandates would be more, from this aspect we have time to discuss if we talk about an unequal competition then the rest of the issue turns into a mountain road against power, money.

Within the space and procedures is the opportunity that is required to look at the counting and dealing with the minutes and how they are entered into the system. Personal feelings are less important, care must be taken, fatigue takes its toll. It is neither an easy nor a short process, the CEC gives numbers that it has counted more than it has declared that there were voters, it can happen, you have them in your hand, you have them with pens in your hands, election after election, people know, there is no technology that came out in 2025.

He was 'head to head' with Jorida Tabaku and secured 18,055 votes. For this, he requested a few hours ago from the CEC the video footage of the vote counting process.
