Prisoner ends life in Fushë-Krujë prison

A detainee was found hanged in the toilet of a cell in the Fushe Kruja prison.

Qani Muça was found dead by another detainee. The 55-year-old had been arrested a year ago after injuring an IMT inspector.

The IMT demolished Qani Muça's house at that time and the 55-year-old at the time fired a gun at the inspectors.

"Today, on May 19, 2025, at around 03:34, at the Fushë-Krujë Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions, the detainee Qani Hamit Muça was found hanged in the toilet of the room where he was staying, in the area of ​​the ventilation grille. The incident occurred in sector 2, second floor, building B, where the deceased was staying together with five other detainees.

According to preliminary information, at around 03:34, one of the detainees noticed that Muça was being delayed longer than usual. The latter opened the door and found Qani Muça hanging himself on the window grille. The security service, the institution's medical assistant, the Krujë Judicial District Prosecutor's Office and the Internal Control Service in Prisons (SHKBB) were immediately notified.

"Investigative teams arrived at the institution's premises at around 04:00 and have initiated procedures to document and investigate the incident ," the announcement states.
