52 killed in Gaza by Israeli bombing, Netanyahu: We will take full control of

At least 52 people have been killed by Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip overnight and early morning, in a further escalation of the military offensive in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.

"The Israeli bombardment of Gaza continued from midnight until the early hours of the day, causing the deaths of 52 martyrs," Gaza Civil Defense Service spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP.

According to him, air and ground attacks continued into the afternoon, with Israeli forces "expanding their operation on the ground."

In this tense climate of war, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed through a video posted on the X network (formerly Twitter) the intention to take full control of Gaza.

"The fighting is intense and we are making progress. We will take control of the entire Strip area. We will not retreat," Netanyahu said, stressing that military action will continue until Israel secures control of the territory.

Regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Netanyahu said that aid distribution centers, controlled by Israel, would be set up to prevent it from falling into the hands of Hamas. “We must provide minimal aid to avoid mass starvation among the civilian population,” he added.

The first humanitarian centers are expected to be put into operation in the coming days, while the stated goal is to create a humanitarian zone under Israeli control, where Palestinian civilians can receive aid.

The situation remains critical, with civilian casualties increasing every day and with deep uncertainty about the future of Gaza.
