Eurovision 2025/ Spanish television explodes against the voting system: Israel

The controversy following the end of Eurovision 2025 is not stopping. Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has announced that it will officially ask the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to review the televoting system and conduct a full audit of how the public voted.

The reaction comes after Israel, which received only 60 points from the professional jury, won the public vote and came in second place, while Spain's representative, Melody, finished second to last in the classification. RTVE suspects that the results were influenced by the war situation, questioning the impartiality and cultural character of the competition.

According to RTVE, both Israel and Ukraine won the televoting during the semi-finals, regardless of their musical performance, raising suspicions that external factors are influencing the final result.

“Peace and justice for Palestine”
This stance comes after a strong message delivered by RTVE during the grand finale, where Spanish presenters publicly expressed support for Palestine. “Peace and justice for Palestine” was the message RTVE broadcast, which brought warnings of sanctions from the EBU for political involvement in an artistic event.

According to Spanish media, other European countries are expected to join this request for a review of the voting system, while the discussion on the neutrality of Eurovision and the influence of political contexts on the final results seems to have just begun.

The winner of this edition was Austria with singer JJ and the song "Wasted Love".
