Diaspora votes change the result in Kukës: Isuf Çelaj of the DP

After counting about 80% of the diaspora votes for the Kukës Region, there has been a significant change in the composition of the deputies who will represent this area in the next Assembly. Democratic candidate Isuf Çelaj has temporarily regained his mandate as a deputy, thanks to strong support from voters abroad.

According to the latest data published by the Central Election Commission, the difference between Çelaj and rival candidate Shkëlqim Shehu is currently 64 votes, after processing 2,852 envelopes out of a total of 2,917 received from the diaspora.

The Kukës district was won by the Alliance for Greater Albania (ASHM), which has so far secured 2 parliamentary mandates. Meanwhile, the Socialist Party has only received one mandate in this district.
