Will Berisha resign? Topalli: Hasty decisions are not made in times of boredom

A Democratic Party protest has begun in Tirana following the disappointing results of the May 11 elections, while the European Community summit is underway in the capital.

The DP's political leader for the Diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, said that in the current situation, no hasty political decisions should be made.

"The result of these elections reminds me of a result from 2001 when there was the Dushku phenomenon, where 12 MPs came from one area and I remember that after that people were very disappointed. It is important not to make hasty decisions at a time when you are upset, both about life and politics," Topalli told A2 CNN.

She was further asked whether the article in the DP statute that stipulates that the president must resign in the event of election losses will be respected.

"Before you asked this question, I told you one thing. In difficult moments of boredom, you should leave decisions to a moment when you are calmer so as not to make mistakes," was Topalli's response.
