They were distributing cocaine, the Italian-Albanian drug gang is arrested

An operation carried out at dawn by the Asti State Police, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office, led to the execution of eight personal precautionary measures against individuals involved in an active cocaine trafficking network in the city center.

In detail, six people were arrested and sent to prisons in Alessandria and Turin, a woman from Turin ended up under house arrest, while another suspect was forced to stay in the municipality of Asti. The suspects, all Italian and Albanian, are accused, to varying degrees, of drug trafficking, mainly cocaine.

At the center of the investigative activity was a 35-year-old Italian man, now under special surveillance with the obligation to stay at home between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

Despite this, the man managed an intensive drug trafficking operation from his apartment, obtaining cocaine on credit from other dealers and then reselling it at inflated prices, thus making a profit and securing doses for personal consumption. In many cases, the deliveries were carried out by third parties in exchange for the drugs.

During the investigation, 11 people were questioned and three subjects were arrested in flagrante delicto. Over one kilogram of cocaine and more than 5,000 were also seized.

During the execution of the precautionary measures, numerous house raids were carried out. Inside the suspects' homes, smartphones, precision scales, drug packaging materials and, in one case, over 100 grams of cocaine were found and seized, leading to another arrest in flagrante delicto.

The operation represents a serious blow to the local drug market, confirming the continued commitment of law enforcement agencies in the fight against drug trafficking.
