CEC decides on Greek envelopes: Vote counting to continue

CEC decides on Greek envelopes: Vote counting to continue

The Central Election Commission has decided that the votes received from Greece, which have been left pending, will be counted.

Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi said no irregularities were found in these boxes.

"Members of the counting teams have the right to challenge the votes when they are read, and they have no other legal target. No other electoral instance has procedural competence to review requests or allegations of possible irregularities in the electoral process."

"This is done only after the counting and tabulation of the results have been completed," said Celibashi.

The suspension of the votes came after the Democratic Party's request to the CEC, where they expressed doubts about their regularity.

After the CEC's initial decision to count them, the Socialist Party opposed this decision by appealing to the Appeals and Sanctions Commission (KAS), which ruled in favor of the CEC.
