DP retains fourth mandate in Lezha, tensions between Taulant Balla and Flamur

The vote counting process in the Lezha district, including the votes of the Greek diaspora, has concluded without bringing any changes in the distribution of mandates. The Democratic Party has managed to retain its fourth mandate in this district, while the Socialist Party holds three mandates.

Although the SP managed to get the majority of the diaspora votes, this was not enough to overturn the result, leaving the Democrats with an advantage in one of their main strongholds in the north of the country.

After the announcement of the result, the situation became tense in the premises of the Zonal Election Administration Commission, where verbal clashes and physical pushing were recorded between the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, and the representative of the DP, Flamur Noka. The fierce debate between them began about the integrity of the process and the final result, making it necessary to intervene by the security service to calm the situation.
