The Police Supervision Agency (AMP), in cooperation with the Directorate of Customs Investigation and the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Shkodra, has executed the detention orders for four officials suspected of abuse of office.

Three police officers and a customs officer were arrested at the "Hani i Hoti" Border Crossing, specifically:

T. M., police
officer S. E., customs officer
The arrests are related to an event that occurred on September 17, 2023, when a truck with Albanian license plates, after passing customs procedures in Albania, was stopped at the "Bozaj" Border Point in Montenegro. Montenegrin authorities discovered a quantity of 442,084 kilograms of narcotics, suspected of being Cannabis Sativa, in the vehicle.

According to AMP, several months of investigations into the matter have been conducted with special methods and have revealed serious violations of the law and standard procedures by the officials in question.

Criminal proceedings for this case were registered in 2023, while today's detentions mark an important step in the fight against abuse of duty and narcotics trafficking through border crossings.
