Police have provided details of the explosive placed in the Veliera area of ​​Durrës, near the palace where former mayor Vangjush Dako resides.

According to the police, the explosives were connected to a mobile phone. Engineer forces managed to detonate the explosives under control.

"On 20.05.2025, at around 22:30, in neighborhood no. 1, in the place called "Veliera", a package with suspected explosives was found.

Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services went to the given address and established a security perimeter, while the RENEA anti-explosive unit carried out actions to deactivate the package with explosives that was connected to a cell phone attached to a natriban.

"The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the circumstances of the case, identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s). The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action ," the police announced.
