52 arrest warrants have been issued as part of a major operation against international drug trafficking conducted in Albania and Italy.
The operation was carried out by the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate of Bari and the Albanian authorities, with the assistance of Interpol, the Office of Security Experts of Tirana and the Albanian police, with the coordination of Eurojust and the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate of Rome.
It is learned that lawyers, police officers, officials, and characters from the criminal world are involved.
The arrested are accused, to varying degrees, of international trafficking of large quantities of narcotics, money laundering and abuse of office.
Movable and immovable assets worth several million euros were also seized.
