Operation "Ura" carried out by the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate of Bari and SPAK, with the assistance of Interpol, the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate of Rome, issued 52 arrest warrants for international drug trafficking, money laundering and abuse of office.
In a joint conference with Altin Dumani, the chief prosecutor of Bari, Roberto Rossi, pointed out the dominance of the Albanian mafia on the international level. Rossi stated that the Albanian mafia is very strong, but that justice will be able to fight it.
"We are continuing to work to achieve common results and to fight crime in Italy and Albania. We are aware that the investigative authorities in Albania and especially SPAK are very capable of apprehending criminals together with us."
The Albanian mafia is unfortunately a very large international force, but we are certain that the Albanian people, through the justice authorities, will be able to fight this cancer.
"Through perfect cooperation, we are synchronized to achieve this objective ," Rossi declared.
