Documents/ DP takes to the US the abuses committed in the electoral process: We demand a technical government

The Democratic Party has launched a document in the United States that shows the abuses that were committed in the May 11 electoral process.

The document, dated May 16, was sent to her lobbying company in America, Continental Strategy, and registered with the US Department of Justice.

The document states that "the parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025 in Albania were characterized by serious systematic violations, seriously compromising international principles for a free and fair electoral process."

According to a preliminary report by the DP, the elections failed to provide a fair and free environment for voters to make informed choices.

The report also highlights that, in an attempt to secure a fourth term, Prime Minister Rama has used the justice system as a weapon against the opposition.

The report recommends the creation of a technical government to prepare new free and fair elections as well as an international investigation into the integrity of the elections.

Some of the allegations listed in the report:

Organized crime played an active role in the elections in 10 of the 12 regions and 21 of the country's 61 municipalities.

Criminal groups in Tirana, Vora, Elbasan, Durres, Shkodra and Lezha have been mentioned as part of the structures that assisted the Socialist Party under the direct coordination of the Prime Minister's Office.

Vote buying with public money, including the distribution of bonuses to pensioners (around 70 million euros) and a fiscal amnesty of 200 million euros 48 hours before election day.

Massive clientelistic hiring – over 10,000 people employed in the administration before the elections for electoral purposes.

Legal manipulation of the result – SP with about 52% of the vote, but gains about 60% of the parliamentary mandates.

The return of patronage Nazis and the use of former Sigurimi officers to exert political pressure on citizens.
