"Ura"/ Tirana Court approves Italy's request for the extradition

The Tirana Court has made the decision for Ekil Nderjaku alias Genti Nderjaku and Ervis Detin, for whom Italy has requested extradition as part of Operation "Ura" which hit a powerful criminal group involved in drug trafficking to the neighboring country, which was based in Durrës.

The Black Squads have deemed their arrest with the aim of extradition to Italy legal.

“Validation as lawful of the arrest for extradition purposes of citizens N. (alias EN), son of . and ., born on . and ED, son of B. and N., born on . carried out by the judicial police on the basis of the “Report on international arrest 21.05.2025 at 10:00”,” the decision states.

Nënderjaku was in prison at the time the operation was carried out as he is being tried for involvement in the Shkozet incident on November 1, 2019, where driver Andi Maloku died after an assassination attempt.

Meanwhile, the other detainee, Ervis Deti, was arrested during the operation codenamed "Ura", following an arrest warrant from the Court of Bari, Italy.
