Suffering from mental health problems, 42-year-old man crashes into police

A 42-year-old man, suspected of suffering from mental health problems, has been arrested by police.

He attempted to escape from the QSUT, after having previously shot the doctor with a toy gun. During the police pursuit, the 42-year-old crashed into 3 police cars.

"The item with which the 42-year-old shot is being seized."

At around 09:00, citizen EV, 42 years old, suspected of having mental health problems, shot a doctor from the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center in the lower limbs with a toy pistol (with bullets), and attempted to leave the premises of this center by vehicle.

Immediately after receiving information, the Police services pursued this citizen, were able to apprehend him and escorted him to the Police premises, in order to carry out further procedural actions.

While attempting to flee, the 42-year-old crashed the vehicle he was driving into three police vehicles. Two traffic police officers were slightly injured in the collisions.

"The investigative group, led by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, continues its work to document the circumstances of the case ," the police announced.
