During the Congress of European People's Parties held in Valencia, an important meeting took place between the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Mr. Lumir Abdixhiku, and his staff, with the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Mr. Sali Berisha, and his cabinet.

The meeting was characterized by a very friendly and close atmosphere, reflecting the long-standing ties and traditional cooperation between the two sister center-right parties in the Albanian space.

The discussions focused on the political challenges facing Kosovo and Albania in two different phases of the electoral processes – Kosovo in the post-election period and Albania on the eve of the elections. The two leaders shared analyses of recent political developments in their countries, emphasizing the need for a coordinated approach and mutual support in addressing democratic challenges, as well as strengthening representative and democratic institutions.

In conclusion, the necessity for closer cooperation between LDK and DP was emphasized, not only within the framework of shared ideological affiliation and membership in the family of European People's Parties, but also because of the historical and national responsibility they bear.

The parties pledged to deepen coordination for common political interests, to strengthen democratic values, and to face together the challenges that await the two countries and the entire Albanian nation.
