Berisha from the EPP Congress: The whole world awaits the victory of the DP, with the belief that EU membership will become a reality

The President of the Democratic Party, Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha, who has been present for two days at the Congress of the European People's Party (EPP) in Valencia, declared in a statement to the media that this is the most important political forum in Europe today, attended by Chancellor Merz, 14 European prime ministers, EC President Ursula von der Leyen, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, as well as many commissioners and MEPs.

In his speech, Opposition leader Berisha denounced the political situation in Albania, calling the country “the first and only narco-state in Europe” and accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of election manipulation and political violence against the opposition, with the aim of securing a fourth term. Berisha said that his message was very well received and that he felt he had fulfilled his obligation to the opposition people and Albanian citizens.

Berisha announced that the EPP will adopt the fourth resolution within five months condemning Rama's government, emphasizing that the Democratic Party has received full support from the EPP and international allies on the path towards European integration.

The leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, emphasized that 74 victories of the center-right forces in Europe will be followed by the 75th, which, according to him, will be the victory of the DP in the elections of May 11. International resolutions and positions, including the latest OSCE report, according to Berisha, are a call for Albanians to punish the current regime and pave the way for the restoration of democracy and the rule of law.

Berisha: For two days, I have been in Valencia, in the proceedings of the most important Congress being held today in Europe, the EPP Congress, in which the most important leadership of the continent, Chancellor Merz and 14 prime ministers of European countries, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen and a considerable number of commissioners, the President of the European Parliament, Ms. Metsola, and a considerable number of MEPs participate from the delegations of all the center-right parties of Europe, which are members of the EPP.

During the proceedings of this congress, which is mainly dedicated to the major changes in Europe and in the world today, I had the opportunity, in addition to my speech, in which I focused entirely on the situation in Albania and presented before the largest European audience, the sad truth of the only and first narco-state in Europe, which is the narco-state built by Edi Rama, in Albania.

I discussed at length his efforts to turn the elections into a facade, as well as the violence and political terror he exercises against opposition forces, with the sole aim of obtaining a fourth term.

I think that the speech was really well received and had a strong positive impact. So, I think that I did my duty properly before the Albanian opposition people, but also before every Albanian, because these truths must be known and fought for. This is the best integrity of all Albanians.

Syri Tv: Mr. Berisha, what support did the DP receive from the PPE?

Berisha:  The DP and the opposition people received full and total support from the EPP. Here, a resolution is being approved today, at these moments, after this interview I will be there, in which all the major problems created by the government of Edi Rama in relation to the elections, in relation to the opposition, in relation to the implementation of the law, with corruption, with everything are strongly condemned.

So, I think that today, the opposition people, just a few days before the elections, receive a call, receive a call to separate themselves from all these serious problems created by the regime, so that the EPP, the 14 prime ministers of this organization, can support Albania on the path of European integration.

And, without a doubt, crystal clear, they expect the victory of the DP, because they have great faith that this force will restore, restore the rule of law and that the integration process with the DP in the lead is secure and will make Albania's membership in the EU a reality.

Syri TV: How do you feel about Prime Minister Rama's ironic remark about your speech during the meeting? Does your visits to the EPP congresses already bother him?

Berisha:  Today, the internationally condemned is Edi Rama, with merit. Every Albanian should know this. Let them read the resolution, which will be approved shortly, a matter of time, and this is the 4th resolution in 5 months, which condemns Edi Rama. In fact, the political world, the majority of the political world, is against Edi Rama, punishes Edi Rama.

And let's not forget that there have been 74 victories for the center-right forces this year, and the 75th will be the victory of the DP, which is eagerly awaited by our partners and friends in the EPP, the International Democratic Union and the International Christian Democratic Center.

So, the whole world is waiting for the DP's victory.

Syri TV: There are 3 resolutions condemning the electoral processes that Mr. Rama has followed, do you expect that there will be a regular process on May 11?

Berisha:  I believe you have heard the very serious report that the OSCE delegation published yesterday. But all this great support for the Albanian opposition turns into a powerful message for every Albanian to sign the end of Edi Rama's regime and to open a new chapter for Albanian democracy, the integration of Albania.
