Diaspora vote/ Around 45% of immigrants have returned votes from abroad, Italy

The diaspora voting process for the May 11 elections is progressing at a steady pace. So far, 45.34% of emigrants who registered to vote from abroad have returned their ballots to Albania.

Since April 14, when the Central Election Commission (CEC) began sending envelopes, 111,557 emigrants out of 218,638 who received envelopes have returned them, while around 25,000 people have still not received the envelopes sent.

There are now only 11 days left, until May 11 at 7:00 PM, for approximately 55% of the remaining ballots to arrive in Albania and be counted for the final result in each region.

Italy leads with 20.6% of votes cast, followed by Germany with 6.5% and Greece with 5.6%, which is significantly increasing the pace of returns, albeit slowly.

Based on the CEC's agreement with DHL, returning envelopes from countries within Europe requires 2-3 business days, while from more distant countries such as the USA and Canada, up to 4 days.
