They bombed their apartment to gain asylum in the EU, uncle and nephew arrested

Police have arrested the owner of the apartment in Elbasan where the explosives explosion occurred in the early hours of this morning. His son has also been arrested. They are accused of illegal possession of explosives, destruction of property and staging a criminal event.

Ardit Pepa staged the event together with his nephew in order to obtain asylum in an EU country. At the time of the explosion, no family member was in the apartment, while the windows of several apartments in the building were damaged.

Security cameras captured a man circling several times during the evening in front of the entrance to the first-floor apartment of the building where the explosion occurred.
